A different ninth century vertical flying flag may be the raven banner which was applied greatly by the Vikings. Despite the fact that no comprehensive illustration of this banner exists, it likely seems on Northumbrian cash from the start from the century and afterwards, during the 11th century, is almost certainly seen around the Bayeux Tapestry.
